Since announcing the coming soon Hobby Lobby of Opelousas nearly a year ago in August of 2023, significant progress has been made toward completing the popular crafts store. It now looks like an actual Hobby Lobby store with the updated exterior facade, the HUGE signage, and the wide open & brightly lit interior as seen in the photo below.

Investigation into suspected Lockport meth dealer leads to multiple arrests
The Lafourche Parish Sheriff's Office announced this week that an investigation into a local meth dealer has led authorities to four arrests. Sheriff Craig Webre said that an investigation into Mitchell Folse, 45, led narcotics agents to obtain arrest warrants and a search warrant for his residence on Mar Drive. On July 11, 2024, narcotics agents located Folse and took him into custody. Agents then proceeded to the Mar Drive residence to conduct a search with assistance from LPSO patrol deputies and detectives, as well as the Lockport Police Department.
