Baseball 7/17/2024 8:48:00 AM Tom Riordan WILMINGTON, N.C. – UNCW baseball alum Jacob Shafer became UNCW's third player to be selected in the Major League Baseball Draft in round 17 on Tuesday. Shafer joins Luke Craig and RJ Sales, who were selected in the seventh and 10th rounds of the draft. In his final season with the Seahawks, Shafer made a career-high-tying 16 starts and finished with a 4-6 record. He finished his tenure at UNCW with a 12-12 record. Women’s Soccer Signs Charlotte Transfer
WILMINGTON, North Carolina – UNCW women's soccer Head Coach Chris Neal has announced the addition of Charlotte transfer Ayanna Parker to the program for the 2024 season. Parker, a 5-4 forward, made 35 appearances over the previous two seasons for the 49ers. "Ayanna is a dangerous attacker and a great addition to our squad," said Neal.
