Wind farm project to revolutionize Long Island’s energy
Gov. Kathy Hochul (D) announced Wednesday, July 17, the start of construction on Sunrise Wind, an offshore wind farm about 30 miles off the coast of Montauk. The project is spearheaded by Ørsted, a global leader in renewable energy. To celebrate the groundbreaking of the project, officials from Ørsted met with several government leaders at the Boys & Girls Club in Bellport.

Bucknell, Siena to Play Men’s Basketball Game at Mohegan Arena at Casey Plaza; Contest is Part of Challenging Non-Conference Schedule
LEWISBURG, Pa. – After a 19-year absence, NCAA Division I men's basketball is returning to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton area as Bucknell and Siena have agreed to play a neutral-site game at Mohegan Arena at Casey Plaza on Saturday evening, Nov. 30. The Lackawanna County Visitors Bureau and Geisinger are the presenting sponsors for the game. Tickets will go on sale at a date to be announced.

A voluntary recall of cucumbers and bagged salads sold in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut due to possible listeria contamination has been expanded to include additional produce.Earlier this month, Wiers Farm recalled whole cucumbers and bagged salads with pack dates of June 5 and June 6.While the products involved are past their shelf life, the recall has been expanded to others in response to an investigation.Products involved in the expanded recall were packed between July 5-12 and sold under the brand names Wiers Farm and Freshire Farms.According to the FDA, the move is being made out of an abundance...

Historical marker honors Mohawk Colored Giants of Schenectady

Milas Restaurant 518 Ribbon Cutting
The Capital Region Chamber presented a ribbon cutting for Milas Restaurant 518. Kaytrin and Devin Ziemann have already been making their mark in downtown Schenectady, and this is their second restaurant in town (Ziemann Hospitality also owns the Nest at 512 State Street). Devin has been a restaurant chef for over 15 years, while Kaytrin studied dietetics and food service management at SUNY Oneonta which opened her eyes to the value in Hospitality. They have invested in a stunning environment, and care deeply about the guest experience from start to finish, with quality ingredients and in-house culinary creations. Men's Basketball Announces 2024-25 Schedule
LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – Rider University Men's Basketball Head Coach Kevin Baggett has announced his team's 2024-25 schedule. The Broncs are set to face four high-major opponents on the road in the non-conference, with a season-opening trip to UCLA (Nov. 4), a meeting with former Siena Head Coach Fran McCaffrey's Iowa Hawkeyes (Nov. 19), a Nov. 27 trip to Villanova and a Dec. 16 trip to Raleigh to face North Carolina State highlighting the docket. The Broncs wrap up their Californian trip with a stop at the University of San Diego (Nov. 6), before playing a pair of games in Maryland (Coppin State – Nov. 9; Navy – Nov. 12).
