Search warrants were served today (Monday Aug 26) at two locations in Hardin County as an investigation is underway into a recipient of a revolving loan. LIMA, OH (WLIO) - Another Allen County Fair has come and gone, and officials are more than happy about how this year turned out. Bigger and better seemed to be the trend. With the exception of concert night, every day of the fair saw an increase in attendance from last year. Temperatures stayed unseasonably low, and there was hardly any rain. The livestock auction buyers showed up big this year too, with record-breaking bids on several animals. To Allen County Fair officials, the best thing about this year's fair was the number of kids participating in 4-H.
Visitors explore real bomber planes used in World War II at Allen County Airport
LIMA, OH (WLIO) - World War II history came to life at the Allen County Airport. Sunday was the final day of the Arizona Commemorative Air Force's Flying Victory Tour stop in Lima. B-17 and B-25 bomber planes that had flown in World War II were on display for people to explore and ride. Inside, you could see the original guns and radios as well as photographs and signatures of World War II veterans, including those of the men who fought in the first air raid on Japan.

LIMA, OH (WLIO) - With students heading back to the classrooms, the Lima Family YMCA is gearing up for their fall youth classes as well. The Lima Family YMCA offers a whole array of activities to keep kids not only physically active but also mentally active. Fall sports such as swimming, soccer, and karate are taking registrations, along with the Lego League, first robotics team, and the "Snack Attack" cooking class, are looking for participants. The programming aims to promote youth development, social responsibility, and healthy living in youth.

Tuesday night saw Continental High open up their first season as an OHSAA Division Boys Soccer Division V school as they hosted Division IV Lima Bath. A close game with limited shots on goal had the Pirates hitting the back of the net first with Collin Davis scoring and Bain Stegbauer picking up the assist with 2 minutes left in the first half. The Wildcats picked up the tying goal 2 1/2 minutes into the second half. It was a clean sheet after that. Pirates Wildcats 1 all tie.

VAN WERT--Quick responses by the Van Wert City Police and Van Wert Fire departments quickly extinguished a fire that could have gotten out of hand very quickly. City police and VW Fire Department were on the scene after a 911 call of a smoke alarm, possible fire. City Police entered the structure and removed one person who was having difficulties getting out of the structure.
