Man 'punched wife in head and pulled gun on her' over child’s haircut

A man was arrested in Florida this week after he was accused of attacking his wife over one of their children's haircuts .

The incident occured in Delray Beach , where the man allegedly punched his wife in the head in front of their children and beat her using kitchen utensils.

According to police records obtained by ABC, Drew G Wertheimer, 34, became upset because one of their children's haircuts didn't match the others.

He allegedly held her in their home against her will, destroyed her phone, and pointed a gun at her . He also reportedly threatened to hurt himself if she left him.

She eventually managed to run to a neighbor's house and contact the police.

According to the records, Mr Wertheimer has been charged with false imprisonment of an adult, aggravated battery causing bodily harm or disability, aggravated assault with a firearm and tampering with a witness, and depriving someone of the use of 911.

He is being held in Palm Beach County Jail.
