An Acura sedan was riddled with bullets after a road rage incident Monday in Deltona and the Florida Highway Patrol is asking for the public's help.

The shooting happened about 9:10 p.m in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 4 between mile markers 105 and 108 in Deltona, according to the FHP.

The driver of a dark-colored sedan became involved with a 62-year-old man driving a blue Acura TSX, the FHP stated. As the Acura driver tried to "separate himself" from the sedan, the shooter opened fire, according to the FHP.

The Acura driver drove to a nearby gas station and discovered his car had been struck by several gunshots, the FHP stated. He then called law enforcement. A photo provided by FHP shows the right rear of the car peppered with bullet holes and its right rear tire shredded. The driver of the Acura was not injured.

FHP is looking for the driver of the dark sedan who was described as a Hispanic male in his mid to late 20s with longer curly black hair, the FHP stated.

No other information was provided regarding the man or his car, according to FHP, which is continuing the investigation.

Anyone with information is asked to contact FHP at 407-737-2213 or Crimeline at 800-423-TIPS (8477).

No arrests have been made in another road rage shooting also on Interstate 4 near Deltona on Jan. 31 . In that case, a 61-year-old Tennessee man was shot as he drove a Mercedes Benz sedan eastbound, according to the FHP. The bullet also struck his 19-year-old son. Neither suffered life-threatening injuries. The other vehicle was described as either a sport utility vehicle or a pickup. The FHP stated it had not received any leads in the January case and asked that anyone with information to call them.

Crimeline accepts anonymous tips on any criminal activity, the FHP stated. Tips that lead to felony arrest of suspects may be eligible for cash rewards of up to $1,000 and are paid using an anonymous process.

"Your identity will be protected, and you will never have to give your name" the FHP stated. You can visit the crimeline website at crimeline.org .
