Thinking back on the decade there is a lot of bright and beautiful things that came out of the 70s. And a lot of things are coming back into trends today . Take the extra down low but super high-waisted and tight at-the-top denim jeans. The flowing blowout half-curly half-straight hairstyle, with perfectly rounded sweeping bangs and a middle part. Even roller skates, have made a comeback and are a common hobby in the streets and at skateparks.

There was a lot going on in the 70s and the heart of the era lived in Oakland, CA, where bits and pieces of the era still shine through today! The most notable 70s era existence that still echoes throughout Oakland today is the houses scattered throughout the city, and right now the most charming 70s tree-house-styled home is on the market.., and it’s over the top cool, check it out below!

This house is a time warp of the 70s with the top entrance covered parking and a shrunken house below. The long deck into the house and tall cascading windows throughout and beautiful sculptures of the woodworking cascade across the entire space.

    The Iconic 70s Disco Ball

The elusive disco ball - making its debut in the 1920s but really popping off in the 70s. Found dangling in the middle of every dance club with folks dancing beneath in seriously flared pants, flowy scarves, men with shirts buttoned down so their chest hair can hang loose, and lots and lots of Bee Gees “Stayin’ Alive’” blasting on through the speakers.

As part of the disco era in the 70s every groovy dance club in town sported a large reflective globe spinning in the center of the room. While there were many trends of the 70s that should most definitely stay in the 70s the iconic disco ball is not one of them.

Today the disco ball has made its way back to modern decor, as people have flipped the script on the traditional look and used it to stlye items around their house… and we are so here for it!
