Sometimes going against the grain is the best choice you can make.
We all know the Internet can be brutal with its opinions and "hot takes," but this TikTok creator decided to pay those people zero mind and we are so impressed. She had been thinking about redecorating her primary bathroom but all of her ideas were immediately shot down by the general public. Instead of listening to them however, she decided to go with her gut and make her own decor decisions.
Our jaws dropped when we saw the final reveal. We're so glad she chose her own path! Even the haters had to admit the space looks incredible. Check out the transformation below!
Instagram creator and home decor lover Shanice, also known as @thegeorgianfarmhouse__ , has been sharing her journey of designing and renovating her gorgeous country manor house. While it's definitely been a ton of work, the effort has been completely worth it for Shanice and her husband. They are truly turning this house into a home and adding unique touches to every room to make it completely their own.
Unfortunately for them, TikTok viewers are not always the kindest when it comes to interior design opinions. As a content creator, you have to get used to getting negative comments on any choice you make and while sometimes this can influence people to change their styles, Shanice was determined to stick with her gut.
In one of her primary bathrooms, Shanice had half-wall white subway tile, bright blue top walls, and white trim. This was definitely not the aesthetic she was going for and despite the viewers' warnings, she decided to make some huge changes in the room. Here's what she did!
3 Ways to Easily Upgrade Your Bathroom from Basic to Beautiful
Shanice kept her transformation simple but the change was still pretty drastic.
First, she painted over the half-wall subway tile. It needed to go! She painted it a stunning dark turquoise color, despite the viewers warning her to keep it white.
Next, she dove headfirst into the academia aesthetic and painted her ceiling and trim all dark blue. People were worried that this choice would make the entire room look dark, but she totally proved them wrong.
Last but not least, she covered the top half of her walls above the tile with a floral patterned wallpaper to bring everything together.
It looks incredible all together!
"I certainly didn’t play it safe and just went with what my impulsive thoughts told me," wrote Shanice in her caption.
