Man dies after 4-wheeler accident in Cass County
MURRAY, Neb. (KOLN) - The Cass County Sheriff’s Office said a man died after a 4-wheeler accident Monday evening. Deputies, medics and Murray Fire and Rescue were called to the area of 12th Avenue and Baxter Loop at 5:50 p.m. for a man that was pinned under a 4-wheeler.
Police identify swimmer who drowned in private lake in Norfolk
NORFOLK, Neb. (KOLN) - The Norfolk Police Division identified the swimmer who drowned in a private lake in Norfolk as 29-year-old Erick Ponce Herrera. On July 14, Norfolk Fire and Rescue and Norfolk Police responded to a report of a male swimmer who went missing in a private lake near Highway 81 and North Airport Road just after 5:50 p.m.
Beatrice Humane Society gives free vaccinations and microchips
BEATRICE, Neb. (KOLN) - Beatrice Humane Society is partnering with Petco Love to provide 200 free vaccinations and microchips for cats and dogs. Wednesday from 3 to 5:30 p.m., owners and their furry friends can go to the Gage County Fairgrounds to utilize the free resource. Vaccinations include parvovirus and distemper for dogs, panleukopenia for cats and rabies for both.

Two Lincoln Street Closures Starting July 17, 18
Lincoln Transportation and Utilities (LTU) is advising the community of two street closures beginning today, July 17, and Thursday, July 18. Leighton Avenue from Cotner Boulevard to 70th Street will be closed beginning Wednesday, July 17 as part of a Lincoln on the Move street improvement project.
