Denver Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson has divided opinion since he moved from Seattle to the Mile High City as the trade that sent him to Denver hasn't panned out the way many envisioned.

Wilson had struggled to come to grips with his new environment in his first season with Nathaniel Hackett as Denver had a 5-12 record. But last season, Wilson showed flashes of his old self under Sean Payton.

While he threw for fewer yards, Wilson won three more games, threw more touchdowns, and had fewer interceptions as he wasn't the major problem that the Broncos had.

Now, as his future in Denver looks murky at best, in an interview with former NFL receiver Brandon Marshall on the I Am Athlete podcast, Wilson is as determined as ever to win, while also giving a hint at what his future could hold.

“I’ve got more fire now than ever, and for me, it’s all about winning," Wilson said. I just want to win. I hope it’s in Denver. I hope I get to finish there. I committed there. I wanted to be there. I want to be there. For me, it’s about winning. Over the next five years, I want to win two. I want to feel that trophy again. I love the city and everything else. But you also want to be in a place that wants you.”

Two Super Bowl wins in the next five years is certainly a high bar for Wilson and if that is to be in Denver, then Sean Payton and Co. need to get cracking on building a championship-winning team.

With so much uncertainty surrounding Russell and his future in Denver, no one knows if he will be there come Week 1, let alone be the starter.

Wilson stated he loves the city and wants to win in Denver, but whether Payton and the organization want him back as they could save a huge $49.6 million by making him a post-June 1 cut, but would also have $85 million in dead cap money.

All in all, Wilson looks to be on the way out in Denver, but he still has the desire to win and to add to his one Super Bowl win. He hopes it's with the Broncos, but that is far from a certainty.
