The Colorado Avalanche will face off against the Dallas Stars on Friday night in Game 6. It is a must-win game for the Avalanche, as a loss will end their season.

The Avalanche will certainly rely on superstar Cale Makar for this matchup, as he's one of their best players. The 25-year-old had a dominant performance against the Stars in Game 5, posting two goals on the night. Now, his goal will be to build off it in Game 6.

Makar has a golden opportunity to join some legendary company in this contest. Makar needs just one more point to reach his 80th career playoff point. If he does, he will be the fifth-fastest defenseman to achieve this feat, hitting it in 72 games.

The only players who have reached this accomplishment quicker than that are Bobby Orr (66 games), Paul Coffey (67 games), Brian Leetch (70 games), and Al MacInnis (71 games). All four of these defenders are Hall of Famers.

Seeing Makar producing in the playoffs at a rate almost as quickly as some of the NHL's greatest defensemen is simply remarkable. The 2017 fourth-overall pick is continuing to build on his already spectacular career, and it will be fun to see if he can hit career playoff point No. 80 tonight in a crucial Game 6 for the Avs.
