Zach Parise and Ryan Suter share wonderful moment

Colorado Avalanche forward Zach Parise and Dallas Star defenseman Ryan Suter will be connected in hockey history forever.

Parise and Suter memorably signed identical 13-year, $98 million contracts with the Minnesota Wild during the 2012 NHL Offseason. After several years of being key players and leaders for the Wild, they were bought out during the 2021 NHL Offseason on the same day.

Because their careers are forever connected, Parise and Suter have naturally formed a very close friendship, which was displayed in the handshake line after the Stars defeated the Avalanche in Game 6.

When Parise met Suter in the line, the longtime teammates shook hands and hugged immediately. The pair chatted for a handful of seconds, and it was a nice moment, especially with this being Parise's last career NHL game.

Suter was the not figure from Parise's NHL past who paid the veteran forward great respect. Stars head coach Pete DeBoer hugged Parise and spoke with him for a while. DeBoer coached Parise while he was with the New Jersey Devils.

Clearly, Parise garnered a lot of respect from the players and coaches he played with. It is sad to see the 19-year veteran hang up the skates, but he had an excellent career. In 1,254 career NHL games, Parise had 434 goals, 889 points, and a plus-76 rating.
