Denver Broncos land draft picks for top WR in proposed three-team trade

It is a rare occurrence to see a three-team trade in the NFL but it is commonplace in the NBA. Still, it is a fun discussion to have when talking about NFL deals.

Denver Broncos wide receiver Courtland Sutton has been the subject of trade talks for quite some time and even though he did participate in the team's mandatory minicamp earlier this month, those are not going away.

That gave Kristopher Knox of Bleacher Report a chance to include Sutton in a recent article focusing on three-team trades, and this one would be interesting.

Denver Broncos trade Courtland Sutton in proposed three-team deal

    Team Received in trade
    Pittsburgh Steelers WR Courtland Sutton
    Rams 2026 fourth-round pick
Los Angeles Rams DT Cameron Heyward
Denver Broncos Rams 2025 third-round pick
    Steelers 2026 third-round pick
    WR Tutu Atwell

This trade would make sense for all three sides.

The Steelers would be able to add a proven target to their wide receiver corps, one who caught 10 touchdown passes last season and was Russell Wilson's most trusted target.

The Rams would add Cameron Heyward to replace the retired Aaron Donald and the Broncos would get great value in return for Sutton. Getting two future third-round picks alone would be a pretty sweet pot but Tutu Atwell could be a nice piece too.

Atwell caught 39 passes for 483 yards and three touchdowns last season and he can be a weapon in the return game, particularly with the league's new kick return rule .

Most Broncos fans would probably like to see the team hold onto Sutton, its No. 1 wide receiver. But if the team not being able to suffice him with a new contract becomes too much of an issue, a deal like this one would be tough to argue.
