    Police seek info in 16-year-old’s homicide near Sanderson Gulch

    DENVER (KDVR) — Denver police are seeking information in a homicide investigation after a 16-year-old’s body was found near Sanderson Gulch in the Mar Lee neighborhood in September 2023.

    According to the Denver Police Department and Metro Denver Crime Stoppers, police want information about the killing of 16-year-old Joshua Melbihess.

    Police reported finding him at about 7:19 a.m. on Sept. 26, 2023, near the area of South Julian Way and West Mexico Avenue.

    At first, police said they were responding to an outdoor death investigation. Later that day, police confirmed they were working on a homicide investigation.

    Now Metro Denver Crime Stoppers is releasing the teen’s picture in hopes that someone might know what happened to Melbihess.

    Anyone with information about this homicide is asked to call Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867 or contact the group via metrodenvercrimestoppers.com . Anyone who contacts the tip line or submits information online can remain anonymous and qualify for a reward up to $2,000. The case number for this crime is 23-518851.
