NFL analysts still missing the boat when evaluating Denver Broncos' roster

The Denver Broncos will open training camp in just about three weeks. Between now and then, the team could still consider some last-minute alterations to the roster.

The Broncos have several positions where some more depth could be added. But when NFL analysts look at the state of the current roster, the center position is the one continually being singled out. The latest example of this is from Lorenzo Reyna of Pro Football Network.

When discussing one move every team should make before training camp, Reyna suggests that the Broncos sign a center.

Denver Broncos have good options at center ahead of 2024 season

Reyna lists Scott Quessenberry as the center for the Broncos to sign. Quessenberry is a veteran, but he missed the entire 2023 season after tearing his ACL and MCL in training camp. He is now 29 years old and hasn't played in a game in a year and a half.

The Broncos can't do better than this?

If the Broncos were going to sign a center, there are better options than Quessenberry. But the Broncos don't need to sign a center and that is a narrative that needs to be dropped.

Second-year center Alex Forsyth is being slept on by everybody but don't be surprised when he wins the job this summer. If Forsyth is not ready to be that guy, the team has Sam Mustipher, Luke Wattenberg, or even rookie Nick Gargiulo to choose from.

The Broncos don't need to sign a center, and certainly not one who could be as rusty as Quessenberry.
