Denver Broncos will have these 26 current players as unrestricted free agents in 2025

Luckily for the Denver Broncos, the team did not have a lot of big-name players set to hit the free-agent market following the 2023 season. With the failed Russell Wilson contract complicating matters, it would have been tough to keep many players.

The Broncos saw Lloyd Cushenberry and Josey Jewell leave in free agency while also having to make the gut-wrenching decision to release Justin Simmons. In addition, the team had to ignore the top shelf of available free agents and look for the best bargains that could be found.

But the offseason following the 2024 season will look much different. There are 26 players currently on the roster who will be unrestricted free agents ahead of the 2025 season and that list features some big names. The team may find it much more difficult to navigate through free agency next year and though we have the entire 2024 season to play, here is a preview of what is to come.

Denver Broncos 2025 unrestricted free agents

    Primary players

    Garett Bolles

    D.J. Jones

    Javonte Williams

    Samaje Perine

    Baron Browning

    Quinn Meinerz

    Tim Patrick

    Jonathon Cooper

This is a big list and the Broncos won't be able to keep all of these guys. It will be interesting to see what happens with Garett Bolles but getting a contract extension done with Quinn Meinerz should be near the top of priorities for the front office right now.

    Second-Tier players

    Zach Wilson

    Jarrett Stidham

    Tremon Smith

    Riley Dixon

    Michael Burton

    Angelo Blackson

    Justin Strnad

    Matt Peart

    Levi Wallace

    Caden Sterns

    Calvin Throckmorton

    Jonas Griffith

This is a solid group of talent here and it remains to be seen how much each of them will be involved in 2024 as several of these players were signed this offseason to 1-year deals.

Depth players (may not make the team in 2024)

    Phillip Dorsett

    Sam Mustipher

    Andre Smith

    Lil'Jordan Humphrey

    David Sills

    Quinn Bailey

The biggest name here is Lil'Jordan Humphrey who the team signed to a second 1-year deal this offseason. Despite an apparent fondness from head coach Sean Payton, he will have his work cut out for him to be a big factor this coming season.
