Denver police are searching for an "armed and dangerous" 14-year-old boy in connection to a fatal shooting in the RiNo neighborhood on Wednesday, according to a DPD crime stoppers bulletin released on Saturday.

Authorities have obtained a first-degree murder warrant for Stephen Joseph Marquez, 14, who is considered to be "armed and dangerous and should not be contacted by citizens," police said.

At around 6:40 p.m. on Wednesday, police said a man had intervened in a disturbance at 29th and Larimer streets.

During the altercation, Marquez allegedly shot the man, who later died of his injuries on Friday, according to police.

Authorities warn the public not to approach Marquez, who is also known as "Esco." He is described as 5 feet, 5 inches tall and 140 pounds, police said.

Anyone familiar with the whereabouts of Marquez is encouraged to immediately call Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867.
