    Where the good news shines

The University of Denver men's basketball program received the 2023-24 NABC (National Association of Basketball Coaches) Team Academic Excellence Award for the third-consecutive year, the coaches association announced on Monday.

In addition to the team award on Monday, eight student-athletes from last year's roster were named to the 2023-24 NABC Honors Court for their individual performances in the classroom. The eight selected student-athletes tied for second most in the country among Division I men's basketball programs.

As a team, the Pioneers capped off a great year in the classroom with a program-record 3.669 grade point average in the spring quarter to elevate the GPA as a whole last season to 3.402.

The eight award winners were Ben Bowen, Carlos Fuentes, Drake Muller, Isaiah Addo-Ankrah, Jaxon Brenchley, Pedro Lopez-Sanvicente, Touko Tainamo and Tyson Garff.
