DENVER ( KDVR ) — A global technology outage on Friday was impacting banks, media and flights across the world including at Denver International Airport.

According to the Associated Press, the major disruptions are in the wake of a Microsoft and Crowdstrike outage. Cybersecurity firm CrowdStrike said that the issue believed to be behind the outage was not a security incident or cyberattack.

Because of the outage, several airlines are facing global ground stops , according to the Federal Aviation Administration.

DIA said several airlines in Denver were impacted by the third-party tech issues. However, at 7:41 a.m., DIA said operations had “largely stabilized” and airline ground stops had been lifted.

However, delays are still impacting travelers.

Melissa McGibbon was at DIA and sent FOX31 photos of the outages impacting screens all across the airport.

FlightAware said 430 flights have been delayed and 95 have been canceled, as of 10:50 a.m. DIA recommends checking with your carrier before leaving for the airport on Friday to ensure your flight is still operating.

At one point, the outage was impacting the economy lots ticket dispensing system, but as of 5:20 a.m., those lots are working and back open. The garages remain open.

While DIA is experiencing issues from the outage, some U.S. airlines are under full ground stops, and some are even closed.

As of 10:30 a.m., the following airports are closed , according to the FAA:

    • STS – Charles M. Schulz–Sonoma County Airport
    • LAS – Harry Reid International Airport
    • MKE – Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport
    • LGA – LaGuardia Airport
    • BOS – Boston Logan International Airport

Per the FAA, the following airlines are on a ground stop as of 10:30 a.m.:

    • UAL – United Airlines
    • PSA – PSA Airlines
    • NKS – Spirit Airlines
    • AAY – Allegiant

Frontier Airlines , based out of Denver, issued a ground stop on Thursday evening due to the same technical issues with Microsoft. The ground stop has since been lifted.

Microsoft 365 posted on X that the company was “working on rerouting the impacted traffic to alternate systems to alleviate impact in a more expedient fashion” and that they were “observing a positive trend in service availability.”
