    Crime Stoppers reward offered after man found dead in car near Sloan’s Lake

    DENVER (KDVR) — Denver police are investigating a June death as a homicide, and are now partnering with Metro Denver Crime Stoppers to provide a reward for information.

    Police were called to investigate an unresponsive person in a vehicle at West Byron Place and North Yates Street, which is near Sloan’s Lake, on June 5 at about 11 p.m. After arriving, officers found that the person in the car was dead.

    David Urena-Cruz, 23, was stabbed to death, according to the Denver Office of the Medical Examiner, which conducted an autopsy on his body.

    According to Crime Stoppers, Urena-Cruz had recently moved out of his apartment. He was known to sleep in his vehicle at Sloan’s Lake.

    Anyone with information about Urena-Cruz’s death is asked to contact Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867 or MetroDenverCrimeStoppers.com . Tipsters can remain anonymous and qualify for a reward of up to $2,000 in this case.
