Courtland Sutton gets the deal he was looking for from Denver Broncos

The Denver Broncos have done right by their No.1 wide receiver, agreeing to give him the restructured deal he was seeking.

Sutton caught 10 touchdown passes last season and was arguably the team's best player. With a rookie quarterback set to take over the offense as soon as Week 1, it will be highly important for him to have Sutton to throw to. But the contract negotiations between the two sides threatened that, with many suggesting that the Broncos would trade him .

Instead, the team has given Sutton a new deal.

It seems that the Broncos have rewarded Sutton for being professional throughout the process, making sure that he was there for mandatory minicamp and day one of training camp with his team.

Sutton wanted more money, but he wasn't seeking a crazy pay raise. He was scheduled to make $13.6 million this season and the new deal could pay him up to $15.2 million.

With that out of the way, the Broncos can now focus on getting some timing and chemistry down between Sutton and Bo Nix. This news also likely extinguishes the talk of trading Sutton, which was rampant this offseason.
