Three Colorado cities rank among the 'best for disc golf' in US, one of which has 72 courses

The blog LawnStarter recently published a list of America's best cities for disc golf, and three Colorado cities made it into the top ten.

To create the rankings, the company compared the 500 biggest U.S. cities based on 17 data points falling into five disc golf-related categories - access, quality, community, interest, and climate. Included among those metrics were factors like the number of local disc golf courses, local disc golf tournaments, average course ratings, and weather conditions. Scores were calculated out of 100 points to determine each city's rank in all factors and categories, then averaged for the overall scores.

Denver came in fourth place with an overall score of 54.81. According to LawnStarter, the Mile High City is a "dream for disc golfers," with 72 disc golf courses like West Fork and Village Greens . Denver ranked eighth for access, 110th for quality, 163rd for community, first for interest, and 188th for climate.

With an overall score of 47.83, Lakewood placed seventh. The city ranked 16th for access, 51st for quality, 284th for community, 30th for interest, and 139th for climate.

The third Colorado spot to be included among the 'top ten' was Arvada, which took ninth place with an overall score of 47.37. Arvada scored 13th for access, 63rd for quality, 85th for community, 81st for interest, and 139th for climate.

Austin, Texas took first place with an overall score of 60.81.
