    Denver weather: Areas of smoke remain, highs in the 90s Thursday

    Denver can expect continued areas of smoke and haze Thursday and highs in the upper 90s, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder.

    Expect sunny and hot conditions Thursday and a high of 98 degrees. Winds from the east will range between 5-9 mph.

    Looking ahead to Thursday night, expect mostly clear skies and a low of 65 degrees.

    There's a slight chance of showers Friday afternoon with temps lingering in the 90s. The weekend will remain hot with some potential for showers Sunday.

    Friday: There's a 20% chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon. Expect mostly sunny conditions and a high of 96 degrees.

    Saturday: Expect sunny skies and a high of 95 degrees.

    Sunday: There's a 20% chance of showers and thunderstorms in the forecast after noon. Expect mostly sunny skies and a high of 97 degrees.

    Monday: There's a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon forecast. Expect mostly sunny skies and a high of 96 degrees.
