Former Syracuse basketball guard Joe Girard signs overseas contract
SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Former Syracuse basketball guard and Glens Falls native, Joseph Girard III has signed a contract to play in Lithuania for the 2024-25 season. Girard will play for Nevezis in Lithuania’s top league, the team announced. Girard confirmed the news in a text message to Syracuse.com. Nevezis finished ninth place in the LKL at 10-20 last season.

Bikash Regmi was born in Bhutan. He fled that country as a child in 1992 after civil war broke out. After 17 years living in a refugee camp in Nepal, Bikash was able to emigrate to the United States. Today, he and his wife Kumari are nurse practitioners and own their own family practice in North Syracuse. Along the way, Bikash has received multiple awards and honors, including Red Cross real Heroes, The SUNY Chancellor’s Award, and an Empire State Public Service Award. Kyle McCord got the keys to the offense of one of college football's most prestigious programs last season at Ohio State after sitting behind C.J. Stroud for two seasons. On paper the 6-foot-3 gunslinger's first year under center for the Buckeyes looked to be a successful one as he went 11-1 alongside his former St. Joe's Prep teammate and wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr., who is now with the Arizona Cardinals. But at a program like Ohio State that has national championship aspirations and beating "that team up north," it wasn't. This led McCord to enter the transfer portal in December before the Cotton Bowl.
