Salina, N.Y. – A man who threatened to shoot up police headquarters and a 911 call center was arrested Thursday. Corey Kinsella, 31, was charged with making a terroristic threat after making 22 calls to the Onondaga County 911 Center, according to a news release Friday from the Onondaga County District Attorney’s office. Making a terroristic threat is a felony, which carries a maximum sentence of seven years in prison.

A woman was killed and a man was injured when their upstate New York house exploded, authorities said.The house exploded just after 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday in the town of Lincoln in Madison County.Crews from several police and fire departments arrived at the scene and found a man and a woman trapped in debris, said Samantha Field, a spokesperson for the county.The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, and the man was airlifted to a hospital, she said. Syracuse University’s plans to build a massive new dormitory directly across from the historic rose garden is getting blowback. According to Syracuse.com, the building on Ostrom Avenue and University Place will house 703 beds.
