WAUKEE, Iowa — A Des Moines man has been accused of shooting at a vehicle while driving on I-80 Thursday evening.

According to court records, at around 7:45 p.m. WestCom Dispatch received a report from a victim claiming that “a white car driven by a bald man in a turquoise shirt shot a gun” at him while they were traveling westbound on I-80 near Waukee. The victim also reported that the suspect was yelling at him while pointing the gun directly at him.

A Dallas County Sheriff’s deputy pulled over a vehicle that matched the description of the suspect’s car a short time after the report at the 88 mile marker westbound exit ramp. According to a criminal complaint, the deputy saw a handgun with a silencer on the passenger floorboard and a spent shell casing in the passenger seat.

Court documents also state that a witness told investigators that the shots fired hit a FedEx truck that was in front of the victim’s car. No injuries were reported.
