    24-year-old motorcyclist killed in weekend crash identified by Des Moines police

    Des Moines police have identified the 24-year-old motorcyclist who was killed in a crash early Saturday morning.

    Jerome Mozee, 24, died in the 1800 block of Second Avenue at about 2:12 a.m., according to a news release from Des Moines police spokesperson Sgt. Paul Parizek.

    Patrol officers and Des Moines Fire Department rescue personnel found Mozee in the roadway, the release said. He was dead at the scene.

    The crash happened in a construction zone. Evidence indicates another vehicle may have been involved and then left the scene, the release said. Mozee was not wearing a helmet.
