Even though the new "Twisters" isn't filmed in Iowa, Iowans can help victims of natural disasters by going to see the movie at Flix Brewhouse.

Flix Brewhouse will donate funds from every ticket purchased to support disaster relief efforts by the American Red Cross. Proceeds from the Storm Chaser Burger Special, which is a beef burger with Havarti cheese, bacon jam, sundried tomatoes, baby arugula and seasoned tater twisters, will also be donated to the cause.

"By attending this movie event at Flix Brewhouse, you're not only enjoying a thrilling cinematic experience but also contributing to a cause that helps communities in need," a news release from Flix Brewhouse said.

When will the 'Twisters' Red Cross fundraiser take place at Flix Brewhouse?

If you buy your tickets to "Twisters" or the Storm Chaser Burger Special from July 18 to July 23, part of the proceeds will be donated to the Red Cross.

"This nationwide fundraising effort supports those affected by natural disasters as The American Red Cross is responding to nearly twice as many large incidents as it did a decade ago to help families and communities struggling with more frequent and intense climate events," according to the news release.

What will the funds go toward?

Funds donated from Flix Brewhouse will help pay for shelters for displaced residents, hot meals, snacks and water, distribute clean-up supplies, conduct damage assessments of homes impacted by storms and provide mental health support as well as counseling.

What are show times for 'Twisters'?

Shows for "Twisters" start Thursday at 4:30 p.m at the Des Moines Flix Brewhouse. Tickets can be purchased on the Flix Brewhouse's website.

Will any Iowa theaters have the tornado simulation for the 'Twisters' showing?

If you are watching "Twisters" in Iowa, you won't be able to try out the wind tunnels provided by the movie.

Iowa theaters are not included in the list of 20 theaters featuring the immersive experience for the new "Twisters" movie, according to NBC. If you want to make the trip to the Kansas City area to watch the film, the AMC Town Center 20 in Leawood, Kansas, will offer a wind tunnel. Theaters in Chicago and St. Louis also have the tunnels.

Are other Iowa theaters doing anything special for 'Twisters' premiere?

The Varsity Cinema in Des Moines will offer a "Twister Trivia" at 7 p.m. Friday, according to a Facebook post. The session lasts 15 minutes and includes prizes before a screening of "Twisters."

If you want an outdoor experience, Iowa drive-in theaters in Delmar, Newton and Spirit Lake are showing the film opening weekend.
