    Arrest made after man in vehicle shoots at another vehicle in traffic, police say

    DES MOINES, Iowa – Police have released the name of a man arrested for allegedly shooting at a car from another vehicle Thursday night near the State Fairgrounds.

    Officers were called to E. 30 th St. and E. Maple Street around 7:00 p.m. after a witness reported the shooting. At least one bullet hole was found in the victim’s vehicle.

    A vehicle believed to have been involved was located along Dean Avenue and multiple people were detained for questioning.

    Sgt. Paul Parizek with the Des Moines Police Department said Dre Sean Looney, 30, was arrested in connection with the shooting. The Des Moines resident is charged with five counts of intimidation with a dangerous weapon, possession of a controlled substance, persons ineligible to carry dangerous weapons, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He also had a previous domestic abuse charge in a separate case.

    Looney is being held in the Polk County Jail.

    Sgt. Parizek said the victim in the case is the sister of Looney’s ex-girlfriend.
