Man killed, two others shot in Desert Hot Springs

One man died and two others were injured after they were shot in Desert Hot Springs on Wednesday afternoon, according to police.

Officers responded to a report of a shooting at just before 5 p.m. in the 66800 block of Two Bunch Palms Trail, which is directly north of Desert Springs Middle School, Police Chief Jim Henson said.

Arriving officers found the victims there. One of the men was dead at the scene, while the other two men were taken to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs, Henson said.

The Riverside County coroner has not yet publicly identified the man who died.

Police said Thursday they were not releasing any other information about the shooting and their ongoing investigation.
