Arrest made after illegally wired house in the 7th Ward catches fire, authorities say
Authorities have arrested one person accused of starting a house fire by illegally running electricity to an abandoned home, according to the New Orleans Fire Department. Firefighters went out to the 2600 block of Allen Street in the 7th Ward at 12:40 a.m. Wednesday and found the home in flames. The blaze spread, damaging adjacent properties and displacing two people that lived nearby. Firefighters extinguished the flames by 1:22 a.m.

NEW ORLEANS — A 14-year-old girl who went missing may be a victim of human trafficking, New Orleans Police said Monday. According to the NOPD, Kristhal Chinchilla-Canizales went missing after visiting a downtown New Orleans museum on May 22. Chinchilla-Canizales was last seen wearing a black Harley-Davidson pullover and a blue yoga-style jumpsuit, police said.
