Thomas Mulligan, a top aide to New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell, abruptly resigned from his position as deputy chief administration official, the city announced Friday. Since 2022, Mulligan has been in the role, which handles working with businesses, code enforcement, permitting and other regulations. Although he was virtually unknown for much of his tenure, Mulligan in recent months has taken on increasing responsibilities within the administration, including an ongoing effort to rewrite the city’s regulatory system.

Police investigate after multiple shootings reported in Baton Rouge
BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The Baton Rouge Police Department is investigating after multiple shootings were reported Friday night and Saturday morning. Police said officers responded to the 3700 block of East Brookstown Drive around 11 p.m. Friday after two female victims were shot as they were exiting their vehicle. Police said they were sent to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

PORT ALLEN - Detectives are asking for assistance in identifying people who robbed a local convenience store Saturday morning.
