Tobias Harris Signs with The Detroit Pistons

Tobias Harris is heading back to the Pistons. NBA Insider Adrian Wojnarowski reported this morning that Harris is going to Detroit for 2 years and $52 Million.

Harris, 31, will be entering his age 32 year old season. He spent the last 5 and a half years with the 76ers, averaging 17.6 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 3.1 assists. Harris, along with Tim Hardaway Jr. , will add more veteran leadership to a young Pistons team that only won 14 games this past season.

Philadelphia is certainly more than happy Harris is no longer on the roster, especially after this past postseason and the fact they brought in Paul George . However, this looks like a good move by the Pistons on paper. Regardless of what people may think of Tobias Harris, he slides in great at power forward for The Pistons on paper. Detroit will rely a lot on Harris’ ability to score. Harris being brought in makes the Pistons better. His experience and consistency make him an ideal fit for the Pistons, who are looking to develop their young talent and create a more competitive team.

Tobias Harris throughout his career has been a reliable presence in his career, playing in at least 70 games in eight out of the last nine years. An efficient but not prolific scorer who’s good for at least 17 points per game with the potential of averaging 20 points a night. This level of consistency will be crucial for the Pistons as they improve and try to climb the Eastern Conference.

A win-win signing for both sides. Detroit gets a productive NBA veteran who can add more stability to that starting lineup. While Harris can move on from his controversial Philidelphia tenure.
