    Police searching for female suspects after Detroit beauty supply store employee is attacked while recording alleged shoplifters [PHOTOS]

    DETROIT (WWJ) -- Investigators with the Detroit Police Department are hoping a tip will help them track down a couple of suspects in a theft and assault case.

    At around 4:45 p.m. on Saturday, June 22, the DPD said officers responded to a beauty supply store in the 20100 block of W. Warren were employees said two women were suspected of shoplifting.

    While one employee was investigating the theft, another employee — identified as a 50-year-old woman — was recording the incident, police said.

    The employee who was recording was then assaulted by one of the suspects before both of them fled in a black 2017 Chrysler Pacifica, MI/Plate # EHW5786, according to the DPD.

    On Monday, police released photos of one of the suspects and of the the suspect vehicle, hoping that someone in the public will be able to identify them.

    Anyone recognizes this suspect, or the vehicle, or who has any information about this crime is asked to call the 6th Precinct at 313-596-5640, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP (800-773-2587).
