The Detroit Lions had a very productive offseason that saw the betterment of many areas on the roster. One of the more interesting things the Lions did in the last few months is sign CFL Most Outstanding Defensive Player Mathieu Betts.

So far the reviews coming from the Lions are strong. Lions head coach Dan Campbell said that Betts has more versatility than he realized. Since Brad Holmes and the Lions have made it clear that they view Canada as a good spot to find players , there's another guy that they should be keeping their eye on right now.

That's BC Lions' receiver Justin McInnis. The 6-foot-5-inch and 216 pound receiver is an absolute phenom in the CFL this season. He has a league leading 45 receptions for a league leading 725 yards and five touchdowns six games.

This past Saturday McInnis had one of the best games in CFL history. He caught 14 passes on 14 targets for 243 yards and a touchdown. He's like the Canadian Justin Jefferson.

McInnis is from Quebec, but he played his college ball here in the states for Arkansas State. McInnis got NFL opportunities with both the Colts and Titans in 2019, but has spent his entire professional career in the CFL. He's had a decent career in the league, but this season he has taken off to an insane degree. He played 18 games last year and he's already outdone his season totals from last year in just six games this season.

If the Lions or any NFL team are interested, they're going to have to wait until the end of the December to make their move. Much like with Betts, McInnis is someone that could be signed in February after the season concludes. So we're talking about a guy getting a shot at camp in 2025.
