The Detroit Lions had their best season in 30 years in 2023, winning their division for the first time since 1993 and coming just a few plays shy of a Super Bowl appearance.

Detroit's already high-octane offense took yet another step forward last fall, and the emergence of former No. 12 overall pick Jameson Williams was a big reason behind it.

Many in Lions Nation, including Pro Bowl WR Amon-Ra St. Brown , are now expecting an even bigger impact from Williams this coming season. And while he appears to be living up to the hype on day one of Lions training camp, Williams reportedly had a pretty brutal start to practice on Wednesday.

According to Lions beat reporter Kyle Meinke, Williams briefly left day one of camp after "vomiting several times" during the early portion of practice.

"He told me he’s fine, just ate the wrong thing for breakfast," Meinke reported.

Williams, who was limited to just six games in his rookie year after tearing his ACL in the National Championship with Alabama, also missed significant time to start the 2023 NFL season.

He was initially suspended six games after violating the NFL's gambling rules, however, the suspension was later shortened after the league revised its policy.

He ultimately missed the first four games of the year.

Williams' 2023 numbers certainly don't jump off the page - he recorded just 24 receptions for 354 yards and three total touchdowns during the regular season.

With that said, though, his big-play ability and game-breaking speed were on full display during the NFC title game vs. San Francisco.

The Lions will open the 2024 season at home in Week 1 against Matthew Stafford and the Los Angeles Rams.
