Few, if any players in the NFL have had the kind of terrible injury luck Detroit Lions cornerback Emmanuel Moseley has had in recent years. Unfortunately, that run of bad luck is continuing.

Per ESPN's Adam Schefter , Moseley suffered a torn pectoral at practice recently and will be out indefinitely. This will likely knock him out for the 2024 season, though that hasn't been confirmed yet.

The injury comes after Moseley suffered a torn ACL in back-to-back years, one in each knee.

Moseley was healthy and taking part fully in training camp after recovering from his latest ACL tear. Not only did he look on track to make the roster, he was also competing for the top slot cornerback job.

With Moseley now on the shelf, the competition will be left to Amik Robertson and Ifeatu Melifonwu, who head coach Dan Campbell recently said would get a look there . Rookie Ennis Rakestraw Jr. has also seen reps in the slot.

Moseley was entering his second season with the Lions after appearing in just one game last season. He re-signed with the team earlier this offseason on a one-year, $2.875 million deal .

Prior to his stint with the Lions, Moseley spent five seasons with the San Francisco 49ers , a team he originally signed with as an undrafted free agent.
