Detroit Lions' Dan Campbell addresses joint practice fight fest with Giants

The Detroit Lions and New York Giants had their first joint practice on Monday, but the session was marred with countless fights that no doubt stole the show.

According to Kyle Meinke of MLive.com , there were as many as eight skirmishes at the practice that saw several players get involved. Giants head coach Brian Daboll even got heated at defensive lineman Levi Onwuzurike for getting too close to his quarterback, Daniel Jones, on one rep.

Before the second joint practice on Tuesday, Lions head coach Dan Campbell addressed the situation, saying Monday's fight fest was "too much."

“When you have to stop practice that many times to reset the drill, it’s a waste of everybody’s time,” Campbell said, per The Athletic's Colton Pouncy .

Of course, the Lions and Giants are no strangers to one another after holding joint practices together in 2023, but those sessions didn't come close to what we saw Monday.

Multiple beat writers remarked that the practice between the Lions and Giants was unlike anything they had ever seen before in terms of the fights. Safe to say, any ugly joint practice that sees plenty of fights moving forward will always be compared to Detroit's and New York's. It was truly that wild.

After holding their second and final joint practice on Tuesday, the Lions and Giants will turn their attention to the preseason Week 1 contest on Thursday night in East Rutherford.
