Ex-high school coach David Edward Castillo gets 6 months jail, 20 years probation for sex abuse
After pleading guilty to one count of sexual abuse, David Edward Castillo, former head boys’ and girls’ cross-country coach at Camp Verde High School, has been sentenced to six months in jail, 20 years of probation and registration as a sex offender upon release. VV Fire douses fire along Beaver Head Flat Road

SACATON — Sandra “Sandy” Manuel, 63, died on July 3, 2024. Ms. Manuel was born on Oct. 9, 1960, in Prescott, the youngest daughter of Herman Manuel and Lorraine Johnson. She grew up riding horses with her childhood friend Bago near Prescott on the Yavapai Prescott Indian Reservation. One of the highlights in her childhood was attending the Fourth of July celebration in Prescott with her seven siblings: brothers Hernandez, Carlos, John, Joseph and Larry and sisters Elaine and Wanda.
