Lansing City Hall is officially being sold and will no longer overlook the Capitol
LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - “This is definitely been a long time coming, we’ve been working on this the 6 and a half years I’ve been Mayor,” said Lansing Mayor Andy Schor. A big move by City Council that will change the landscape of Downtown Lansing. Monday night, City Council approved a plan to sell the City Hall building in downtown Lansing. Developer Paul Beitler has agreed to buy the 66-year-old building for nearly $2.8 million and turn it into a hotel. Although final construction plans have yet to be finalized, Mayor Schor says the plan is to be moving out of the current building in the next year or two.
