Sandy Paws Rescue Inc., a foster-based rescue in Massachusetts, recently introduced the dogs who have been waiting the longest in their care for a forever home. One of those dogs is Max, an adorable 11.5-month-old pup who has been waiting since June 3rd. Weighing in at 32 pounds, Max is already housebroken and crate-trained, making him an easy addition to any household. He is described as a dog who "loves his toys, playing with other dogs, and is great with kids too." Though he may be "a little shy with new people," his gentle and sweet nature shines through.

Sandy Paws Rescue Inc. shared that "Max is settling into his new MA foster home well with 3 kiddos (ages 5 and 11) and a resident SPR dog!" He has taken a liking to sleeping in his bed, playing with his toys, and interacting with the resident dog. At night, he sleeps quietly in his crate, and he is both crate and potty-trained. While Max is still working on leash-walking and training, he is "showing improvement every day."

Max also has a unique way of greeting new friends, "Max greets most new friends laying down as he learns to trust and feel safe." Sandy Paws Rescue Inc. notes that "he might take a little time to really come out of his shell," but he "really perks up when he meets other dog friends." They also suggests that Max would thrive in a home with another confident dog who can help him gain confidence and express his true personality.

Max has not yet been introduced to cats, so his compatibility with feline friends remains unknown. His backstory is a touching one: "Max and Layla were found abandoned in a park in North Houston." Fortunately, they were rescued and placed into foster care, giving Max the chance to find a loving family that will provide him with the stability and affection he deserves.

If you're looking to add a sweet, gentle, and slightly shy companion to your family, Max could be the perfect fit. With patience and love, he is sure to blossom into a loyal and loving pet.

Sandy Paws Rescue Inc. requires that anyone interested in adopting must submit an application to them. As a foster-based rescue based in Massachusetts, they don’t have a shelter location, and visits with dogs are by appointment only. Their dogs reside in private homes or kennels until adoption.
