It may be the middle of summer, but the high school football season will be here before you know it.

Ahead of the tryouts and training camps, and before the first kickoff whistle sounds under those famed Friday night lights in the Greater Taunton area, the Taunton Daily Gazette is kicking off our 2024 high school football coverage with a look at all four area team's schedules, and next up is Dighton-Rehoboth.

The Falcons are coming off a 3-7 campaign, with two of those wins coming in the final four games. D-R went winless in South Coast Conference Blue action last season, including a narrow loss to Greater New Bedford. Still, with just 38 players in the program last year, they showed a grit and tenacity that should bode well for them this fall.

As for this year's schedule, the Falcons retain their two non-league opponents from the Cape while ending their three year series with Canton and two year series with Oliver Ames in favor of new matchups against a Tri-Valley League opponent and a divisional crossover matchup with an SCC Gold team.
