Grocery stores have pulled spinach packaged in Newburgh, New York from shelves due to a major health risk. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration issued a warning over fresh spinach that was processed in the Hudson Valley and distributed to stores in New York. The spinach could contain bacteria that may be fatal or cause miscarriages in pregnant women.

CITY OF NEWBURGH – The City of Newburgh will hold its annual Independence Day fireworks display on July 4. The fireworks display will be launched at 1 Washington Street (a.k.a. People’s Waterfront Park), at around 9 p.m. Setup time will begin at 6 p.m. To help protect public safety, 1 Washington Street will be closed to the public from the time of setup until the event has concluded.
