Rochester Man Sent to Jail for Shooting During Botched Robbery
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Rochester man was sentenced Monday for shooting another man in the leg a couple of years ago. 22-year-old Demonte Simmons recently entered a guilty plea to a charge of second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon. Under the terms of his plea deal, a first-degree aggravated robbery charge, and a gross misdemeanor charge of carrying a pistol without a permit were dismissed.

Statewide Missing Person Alert For 17-Year-Old Minnesota Girl
Sartell, MN (KROC-AM News) - A statewide alert has been issued for a missing Minnesota teenager. The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension says 17-year-old Kaydence Johnson has been missing for 30 days and is now considered and endangered missing person. The alert says she and another teenage girl ran away from a residence in the City of Sartell on June 22.

Man convicted of raping, strangling woman in Lansing Township sentenced to decades in prison
LANSING TWP. — A man with a lengthy criminal record has been sentenced to prison for at least 50 years for sexually and physically assaulting a woman in April 2022. Scott Sylvester, 40, was convicted by a jury in April of first-degree criminal sexual conduct, aggravated stalking, aggravated domestic assault, witness intimidation and interfering with electronic communications.

Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The man who shot and wounded the manager of a downtown Rochester apartment complex last year is headed to prison. 61-year-old Robin Lawrence Helmueller went before an Olmsted County judge in April and entered a guilty plea to a charge of second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon. His guilty plea was part of an agreement with prosecutors that resulted in the dismissal of a second felony assault charge.
