Despite closing the week on a low note with a 14-3 blowout loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks Sunday, the Los Angeles Dodgers still put together many memorable moments last week. The Dodgers won four of their six games against the Diamondbacks and Baltimore Orioles, and maintain the best record in the National League.

Here are Dodgers Nation’s top 10 moments from Dodger baseball last week:

    10. Jack Flaherty Snags Comebacker

During his start against the Baltimore Orioles, starting pitcher Jack Flaherty made an incredible catch on a comebacker. Flaherty’s body was not even facing the pitch, but he managed to put his glove out and pull off an impressive catch for the out.

    9. Teo’s Sliding Catches

Against the Arizona Diamondbacks, Teoscar Hernández made multiple sliding catches in the outfield during the same game to get outs for the Dodgers. On the first sliding catch, he quickly threw the ball back to the infield to get a double play.

    8. Tommy Edman’s Versatility On the Field

Edman made critical plays for the Dodgers while playing both center field and shortstop this week. He made a diving catch against the Diamondbacks in the outfield, as well as another diving catch at shortstop. When he made the catch at shortstop, he quickly threw the ball to first base to get the batter out. It’s not hard to see why Edman has won the Fielding Bible award and a Gold Glove award.

    7. Blake Treinen Escaped Bases-Loaded Jam

Treinen came in for the Dodgers during the top of the seventh inning of the Dodgers’ final game of the series against the Baltimore Orioles. The bases were loaded and the Orioles trailed just 5-3, but Treinen managed to get the Orioles out without letting them drive a single run in. He pitched 1.1 innings and struck out three to help the Dodgers get a win.

    6. Ohtani Bobblehead Mania

Before Shohei Ohtani bobblehead night last week, tons of fans lined up at Dodger Stadium hours before the game to try and get an Ohtani bobblehead. In honor of the occasion, Shohei’s beloved dog Decoy “threw out” the first pitch to Ohtani. In the most adorable first pitch, Decoy grabbed the ball and ran it to Ohtani at home plate, earning a high-five from Ohtani. Ohtani later hit a home run during the game.

    5. Teoscar Hernández Go Ahead 3-Run Home Run

With the Dodgers trailing the Baltimore Orioles 3-2 in the bottom of the third inning Wednesday, Hernández hit a go-ahead three-run home run. This home run would be enough to give the Dodgers the win.

    4. Will Smith’s Clutch 3-Run Home Run

The Dodgers were leading the Arizona Diamondbacks 6-5 at the top of the seventh inning on Friday when Will Smith hit a three-run home run to extend the Dodgers’ lead. The Dodgers went on to win 10-9, making every run necessary to pull out the win.

    3. Big 3 Leads Things Off With Back-to-Back-to-Back Home Runs

The Dodgers showed why they have one of the best leadoff trios in baseball on Saturday when Shohei Ohtani, Mookie Betts, and Freddie Freeman all hit home runs to start the first inning against the Arizona Diamondbacks. The home runs helped the Dodgers win 8-6.

    2. Tommy Edman’s Tie-Breaking Two-Run Single in the Ninth

Eight innings after the back-to-back-to-back home runs from the leadoff trio, Edman sealed an 8-6 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks with a two-run single in the top of the ninth inning.

    1. Shohei Ohtani Records MLB’s First Ever 43/43 Season

Just one week after he became the fastest player to record 40 home runs and 40 stolen bases, Ohtani nabbed his 43rd home run and 43rd stolen base against the Arizona Diamondbacks. The unicorn remains on track to become the first 50/50 player in MLB history.
