Florida Fugitive From Edinburg Arraigned On Local Drug Charges
An Edinburg native wanted on a sexual assault warrant out of Tampa Florida has been arraigned on separate charges related to his arrest in Edinburg last week. 35-year-old Carlos Perez was before a local judge Tuesday on 8 counts of drug possession and one count of tampering with a government document. Headline: Tropical Storm Beryl will affect the Texas coast early next week. The latest forecast from the National Hurricane Center tracks Beryl across the Gulf of Mexico and into Texas at Brownsville as a CAT 1 with 75 mph winds on Sunday night. The storm will then move north over the state dropping significant rainfall over the lower half of the state. It is now time to plan for heavy rain and possible flooding in South Texas early next week. The winds from the storm will drop below hurricane force by Monday night.
