Three La Feria ISD Students Earn Their NCCER Certification This Summer
La Feria Independent School District would like to congratulate Bryan Castellanos, Sean Cruz, and Daniel Martinez for successfully completing the Summer Bridge Program in partnership with HCISD. In July, the district worked closely with HCISD to offer two distinct Career and Technical Education (CTE) opportunities. These students gained hands-on experience in various construction areas throughout the program, honing their skills and knowledge. They also earned their National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) certification as a testament to their hard work and dedication. This prestigious accomplishment acknowledges their expertise in the field and opens doors to numerous career opportunities.

Los Fresnos Annual Cook-Off Is Right Around The Corner
Take advantage of the 7th Annual Cowboy Cook-off in Los Fresnos! This exciting event will occur on September 6th and 7th at the Los Fresnos Rodeo Grounds. On the first day, Friday, the cooking teams will assemble to set up and take part in one of the Jackpot competitions. The following day, Saturday, the teams will engage in more Jackpot competitions and compete in the highly anticipated Sanctioned Barbecue event. Additionally, some teams will vie for the People’s Choice Award. Attendees can vote for their favorite participating People’s Choice Cooking Team by tasting their dishes and casting a ticket provided by the Cowboy Cook-Off at the team’s designated location. The team with the most tickets will not only win a prize but also an award plaque. This event promises a fantastic experience for all barbecue enthusiasts and the general public!
