DOTHAN, Ala ( WDHN ) — Dothan Firefighters have determined that fireworks were at the heart of a Dothan house fire early Monday morning.

Near midnight, Dothan firefighters rushed to the 1000 block of Denton Road on reports of a fire breaking out in a two-story home.

Reports show firefighters entered the home right after arriving to battle the flames and were called out a short time later.

Pictures show the fire destroyed the garage, heavily damaged the roof and a portion of the second floor. The flames also damaged a Hummer.

Dothan Fire Chief Chris Ethridge says the fire was caused by fireworks.

Neighbors tell WDHN the homeowners were shooting fireworks in the yard shortly before the fire broke out.
