As the Project One hypercar stays in production limbo, the fastest car Mercedes-Benz currently sells is the 577-horsepower AMG GT R. The two-door packs a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8. The Nurburing, aka Green Hell, inspired the now-famous green paint presentation.

    Porsche 911 Turbo S

The battery-powered saloon Taycan Turbo S is ridiculously quick. It produces 750 horsepower and will hit 60 miles per hour in just 2.6 seconds. But the latest 911 Turbo S tops out at 205 miles per hour on the track, technically making it faster than the Taycan on the top end.

McLaren has several incredibly fast sports cars and supercars in its current lineup. The Speedtail packs a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 and gets to 60 miles per hour in as little as two seconds flat. The Speedtail is the fastest car McLaren has ever built. The car sells for $2.5 million, making it one of the most expensive McLarens.

This 2023 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 car is a 1025-hp street-legal drag-strip special built to celebrate the end of Dodge’s v8 muscle cars. The car runs on E85 gasoline. An NHRA-certified quarter-mile time of 8.91 seconds at 151 mph on a prepared surface is in the books. The zero to 60 time is 1.66 seconds.

Prices for the Demon 170 hover are around $100,000 when Dodge starts building the cats in July. Dodge plans a run of 3,000, and five hundred cars will ship to Canada. The remaining 2500 will stay in the U.S . There is no plan to produce V-8 Hellcats beyond this run of 3,000 cars. The vehicle has a parachute to help the car slow down as an option.
