FRANKLIN TWP. – A 4-year-old girl died Wednesday and two other people were injured following a one-vehicle accident on Interstate 77 in northern Tuscarawas County.

The girl was a passenger in a 2007 Honda Civic traveling northbound on the highway at 5:47 p.m. when it traveled off the left side of the road, struck a raised grass median and began overturning, the Ohio State Highway Patrol said. The car was driven by Josue De Leon Rivera, 38, of Dover, who suffered minor injuries and was taken to Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital in Canton.

The girl, who was not identified by name in a news release, was taken to Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital in Dover due to severe injuries and later died, the patrol said.
